Q:
What happened to Radient Software?
A: The folks at Radient Sofware have moved on to new adventures,
and Aerospire agreed to continue to offer and support CommNet and Secure
CommNet. Existing licenses will still be valid. Technical support will
still be available via email with the same level of professionalism and
promptness.
Q:
What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept payments by PayPal
(Visa,
Mastercard, Discover Card, American Express, and bank transfers).
Q:
I purchased online. How do I receive the registration code?
A: After placing an order, you will receive an online receipt and
email. Upon confirming your payment, we will email you a registration code -- usually within 48
hours. Please note that upgrade orders are subject to verification.
Q:
Do you offer reseller pricing, site licenses, custom versions, government or educational
discounts?
A: Yes. Please email us at bob@aerospire.com
for a custom quote.
Q:
Will I receive a software CD by mail?
A: No. CommNet and Secure CommNet are only available via
Internet download; there is no retail CD at this time.
Q:
What is your return policy?
A: We do not accept returns. Instead, you can try CommNet and
Secure CommNet risk-free with our free 30-day trial.
Q:
I received my registration code via email. How do I register the
software?
A: Save the registration file (*.reg) on your hard drive.
Double-click on the registration file. The "Registry Editor"
dialog box appears. Then click Yes to complete your registration.
Q:
I registered the software using the registration code,
but it still shows the trial version. What do I do?
A: Please check the title bar or the Help -- About dialog box
and confirm whether you have installed CommNet or Secure CommNet. The
registration code for CommNet will not work with Secure CommNet, and
vice versa.
Q:
I registered Secure CommNet 2.0 and upgraded to version 2.2. Why do I
receive a MAIN.CFG error message?
The complete error message is: "MAIN configuration file (MAIN.CFG)
does not exist or is corrupted. Using default settings."
A: Please disregard this message. Secure CommNet 2.2 does not
make use of this file.
Q: Can I use
CommNet or Secure CommNet on a computer with multiple users?
A: Yes. The software
registration code can be stored in a single file, license.dat, so
that each user does not have to re-register the software. Simply open
your existing registration file (*.reg) with Notepad. Copy and paste the
entire registration code after “Key”=, excluding the quotation marks,
into a new Notepad file. Save the new file as license.dat
in your \Program Files\Radient\CommNet or \Program Files\Radient\Secure
CommNet folder. These instructions are available on page 12 of our
User Guide.

Q: How do I add
custom sound effects?
A: If you have a multimedia-capable sound card, you can associate
program events with custom sound effects. To do this, copy new WAV
sound files into the CommNet or Secure CommNet directory. Then
choose Sound Effects from the Setup menu. Select an event
from the Event list and a sound effect from the Sound
File to Play list. Then click OK.Q: Why do I receive the error message "WS2_32.DLL is missing"
(Windows 95 Users)?
A: You must have
Windows Socket 2 installed on your system. Download
Windows Socket 2 directly from Microsoft now, install it on your computer,
and re-start the software. Q: How
can I change the font size to get a full-screen display?
A: Choose Font from the View menu and
change the font style to a True Type font, which is scalable to any point size.
A larger point size will use up more of the screen display. To display ANSI
graphics or VT100 line drawing, you must use either the CommNet font or the
Terminal font.
Q: Why
can’t I see PC ANSI graphics, SCO ANSI graphics, or VT100 line drawing
properly?
A: To properly see PC ANSI graphics, SCO ANSI
graphics, and VT100 line drawing, the CommNet font or the Terminal font should
be selected. Any equivalent font which supports the IBM Extended ASCII character
set may also be used.
Q:
Why
can't I see the characters I type?
A: The reason why you are not seeing
the characters you type is because your "local echo" terminal
setting is probably turned off. What you need to do is go to
"Setup-Terminal Settings" and turn it on. If you are using
phonebook entries to connect, you need to edit each entry's terminal
settings since every phonebook entry has its own terminal settings.
Q:
Why
do I see double characters when I type?
A: The reason why you are getting
double characters is because your "local echo" terminal
setting is probably turned on. What you need to do is go to
"Setup-Terminal Settings" and turn it off. If you are using
phonebook entries to connect, you need to edit each entry's terminal
settings since every phonebook entry has its own terminal settings.
Q:
Another
user connected to my computer via Telnet Host Mode Server -- why
can’t they see what they are typing?
A: The Telnet client which connects to
CommNet should have "Local
Echo" turned on and should send "Carriage Return +
Linefeed" sequences when pressing Enter (in CommNet
terms, Outbound CR->CR-LF conversion should be ON).
The easiest way to ensure compatibility is to have the other user use
CommNet as the Telnet client.
Q: I've
connected to a site but the Enter key does not seem to be working. What
is wrong?
A: The most likely reason why pressing
the Enter key is not working is because the remote host requires a
carriage return-line feed (CR-LF) combination when pressing the Enter
key. What you need to do is go to "Setup-Terminal Settings"
and turn on "outbound CR->CR-LF conversion". If you are
using phonebook entries to connect, you need to edit each entry's
terminal settings since every phonebook entry has its own terminal
settings.
